New Zealand’s Rebecca Steele appeared before a disciplinary hearing at the end of her team’s defeat by India in the Semi Final of the WCWC at Sedgars Park in Potchefstroom on Thursday 7th April. Steele was reported by umpires Shaun George and Dennis Smith after she was seen to throw her bat away after being dismissed.
Steele was charged with a breach of Clause 1.2 of the Code of Conduct:
“Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, fixtures or fittings”.
Steele appeared before Match Referee Cyril Mitchley and was found guilty and given a reprimand.
