Twenty-Nine!

South Australia have been bowled out for 29 by New South Wales today at the SCG. Nathan Bracken took 7/4. I haven’t looked it up yet, but I suspect it is South Australia’s lowest Shield score ever.

NSW are 2/230 just before stumps on Day One in reply, Phil Jaques 152 not out. CricInfo has a non-live, but otherwise dependable scorecard.

I wonder how many people realise that live scores of Pura Cup games are still available on the web. This is the third year that the shield has not been televised and I won’t stop moaning about it.

(Update: OK it is actually the second-lowest score in shield history. 27 is the lowest, also by South Australia, also against New South Wales, and also at the SCG. It happened on 18-19 November 1955, and the late NSW captain Keith Miller took 7/12 from 7.3 overs. Scorecard of the game at Cricketarchive.)
